Pelicans Crossing the Delta Sky

DANUBE DELTA, DANUBE DELTA, ROMANIA

A small flock of pelicans moves through a pale sky above the Danube Delta. The birds are spread across the frame, each caught in a different phase of the same flight. White bodies and dark primary feathers give the composition its structure. There is little else in the image beyond air, spacing, and wingbeat. It reads as a clear field record of motion in an open wetland landscape.
