Glossy Ibis with Prey

DANUBE DELTA, TULCEA COUNTY, ROMANIA

A glossy ibis holds its catch at the waterline, bill angled forward in a brief, unresolved pause. The bird fills the frame from the left, leaving only the wetland surface behind it. Soft, shallow focus turns the background into a muted field of mud and water. The prey hangs from the bill as the clearest point of tension in the image. It reads as a direct field note on feeding behavior in the Danube Delta.
